The Airbus'VSR700 robotic helicopter has successfully completed sea tests under operational conditions, including fully autonomous take-offs and landings in strong gale force wind conditions, from a civilian ship's helicopter deck.

Airbus Defence and Space recently introduced its Counter-UAV System as a way to detect potential UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) threats from a distance of between 5 and 10 km (3 and 6 miles) and bring them down with electronic countermeasures.

Good for Airbus. And for added measure, they should see if they can fry the electronics so that the drone is worthless. If we don't deal with the drones now, a passenger plane will get taken out of the sky and 100's of people will die as a result. JB
